Music about Love

love = OGBFF is our February playlist, curated by artist Lola Dement Myers: a love letter to love i guess. A collection of songs that hopefully can take you to the same place you go when you see your crushes name buzz onto your screen.

If you don’t know Lola’s work yet, this is your sign to tap in immediately.

Lola and I met the way most modern friends do: on Instagram. But when we finally met IRL over dinner in New York, it became clear we weren’t just mutual admirers.. we were operating on the same strange frequency. We sat there for hours talking about niche art references, personal ethics, creative missions, and all the invisible rules we’ve made for ourselves about how to exist online and still feel real.

I left that dinner having mentally classified Lola as a visionary. Every detail: the way she dresses, the way she speaks, the way she moves through a room feels like it belongs to a larger creative universe she’s building in plain sight.

You’ve probably seen her work even if you didn’t realize it was hers. Lola has a way of turning the most ordinary objects into small emotional events. My personal favorite being her still lifes paired with text that feels like it was pulled straight out of your notes app. It’s not so different from what we try to do at OGBFF: notice something small and let it mean more than it should.

I’m not doing her work justice with words, so I’ll say this simply: go look at her Instagram. Let it rearrange your brain a little.
